This morning whilst walking with Louis across the golf course, I found myself wondering about the QLI report I wrote about a year ago.
QLI?
Stands for Qigong Learning Index.
It’s a 7 page pdf report that ranks the 8 ways you can learn Qigong, from best to worst.
When I’d finished my morning routine I dug around on my hard drive, found an old copy, dusted it down a little and uploaded it for you.
You can find it here: http://qigong15.com/free/Qigong-Learning-Index.pdf
If you’re short on time, here’s the “Readers Digest” version (who says I don’t look after you?):
- Learn Directly from a Qigong Master – Easier said than done as these dudes are rarer than hens teeth.
- Learn Directly from a Qigong Teacher – Make sure you do your home work first. Check them out thoroughly.
- Learn from a Good Teacher via Skype – It’s called technological progress and I believe the Qigong masters of the past would have embraced it.
- Learn from a Good Online Qigong Course or DVD – If a picture paints 1000 words then a video running at 25 fps equals 25,000 words every single second. No wonder it’s easier to learn Qigong (forms) from a video. Remember you need to develop skills too!
- Learn from a good Qigong Book – Not as easy as learning from a video source, but can still be of great value. You’re going to have put in some effort though. But your financial costs are minimal and you can learn in the comfort of your own home.
- Learn from a Qigong Form Teacher – Qigong form is not without it’s merits. Just be realistic about the results you can expect.
- Learn from a poor Online Qigong Course or DVD – Why would you want to waste your time and money doing this? Do your homework and you won’t have to.
- Learn from a poor Qigong Book – Ditto 7.
If you’re starting out on your Qigong adventure, or unable to invest the time and resources to seek out options 1 – 3, Option 4 http://enjoyqigong.com is the best and most cost effective way to proceed.
Enjoy your practice, where ever it fits in on the QLI.
